Business Intelligence Consultant

BI Consultant Overview

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Consultant to support data-driven decision-making across key business programs. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, reporting, and stakeholder communication - translating complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing advanced SQL queries against AWS/cloud databases as they are presenting findings to VP-level stakeholders.

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
• Query and extract data from AWS-based databases (Redshift, Athena, Aurora, S3) and other relational databases to support accurate, timely reporting.
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports for executive (VP/Director-level) business reviews (WBRs, MBRs, QBRs).
• Manage end-to-end program reporting: define KPIs, track progress, identify risks, and surface insights proactively.
• Conduct root cause analysis and data validation to ensure reporting accuracy and data integrity.
• Support risk identification and mitigation through data - flagging anomalies, trends, and gaps in operational performance.
• Document reporting logic, data definitions, and methodology clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Communicate findings and recommendations confidently to senior stakeholders in written and verbal formats.

• 4+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in SQL; ability to write complex queries against large-scale cloud databases (AWS Redshift, Athena, Aurora, or equivalent).
• Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Amazon Quick Sight, Tableau, or Power BI.
• Demonstrated experience supporting executive-level reporting and business reviews.
• Strong stakeholder management skills - able to manage competing priorities and communicate clearly across levels.
• Experience with program or project tracking, including risk management and status reporting.
• Familiarity with AWS data ecosystem (S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift).
• Experience with ETL pipeline development or data pipeline management.
• Python scripting experience (for data manipulation or automation).
• Background in data quality validation and governance.
• Experience in a consulting or client-facing delivery role.
