Information Technology Manager; Security; Class Code 0178

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, monitor, and direct enterprise security strategies for the City of New Orleans.
• Establish and amend security policies that protect network, systems, and data environments.
• Present reports on security performance at the engineering, manager, and executive levels.
• Support reporting mechanisms to capture information on the current status of the environment.
• Standardize all incident identification, tracking, and reporting procedures.
• Investigate and recommend methods and techniques for solutions.
• Provide managerial and technical guidance for all security projects in complex networked environments.
• Perform related work as required.

Employees may work fixed or rotating shifts, Saturdays and emergencies. Employees are considered essential and must report to work in declared emergencies.

• At least five (5) years of progressively responsible information technology experience, including the use of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti‑virus software, or related technology.
• At least two (2) years of supervisory experience within that period.
• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), engineering, telecommunications, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university.
