Position: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST II (CABLING/ AV SPECIALIST) (CLASS CODE 0163)
Location: New Orleans

responsibilities

advanced technical, professional and administrative work in designing, integrating, and managing telecommunications, audio/visual (a/v) and data communications technology systems and related infrastructure for the sewerage and water board. Work includes overseeing, installing, maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems and a/v technologies. Also oversees various types of cabling, supports a/v systems in conference rooms, training rooms, and public‑facing meeting spaces, and ensures reliable functionality during public meetings.

qualifications
  • one (1) year of progressively responsible experience in structured cabling, low‑voltage systems and audio/visual installation, and at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunication or a related field.
  • three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in structured cabling, low‑voltage systems and audio/visual installation, and at least an associate’s degree in computer science, telecommunication or a related field.
  • five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in structured cabling, low‑voltage installation and audio/visual system support. No degree required.

a rating of training and experience, weighted 100%. All related previous experience will be considered for qualification purposes; however credit on the rating of training and experience will only be given for experience gained within the last ten (10) years.
