Job SummaryThe IT Site Lead leads the daily operational activities of the plant’s IT department, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with IT policies, procedures, and best practices. The role collaborates closely with corporate IT and other plant departments to implement and support cost‑effective technology solutions that are reliable and secure.
Major Responsibilities- Direct the support of existing systems, ensuring operational issues are resolved promptly and performance meets or exceeds user business requirements.
- Plan and coordinate the full lifecycle of system implementations—including design, configuration, programming, installation, and operations—for site IT functions.
- Maintain the proper functioning of plant information systems, minimize downtime, and proactively schedule upgrades.
- Assist business operations in leveraging information systems to improve efficiency.
- Define, test, and maintain high‑availability network and PC recovery procedures; integrate them into the overall disaster recovery plan.
- Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and related documentation for infrastructure projects.
- Negotiate with vendors, outsource rs, and contractors to secure favorable terms.
- Maintain communications equipment (routers, switches, firewalls, remote access solutions) and manage plant phone system implementation.
- Ensure mastery of the CF Plant technology stack, including Cisco networks, Dell hardware, Azure stack servers, Windows Server OS, Microsoft Intune, Auto Pilot, SharePoint, and SAP Corporate ERP Benchmark.
- Analyze performance data, report findings, and recommend improvements for the plant IT infrastructure and systems.
- Develop Service Level Agreements (SLAs), measure attainment, and initiate programs to meet target SLAs.
- Provide on‑call availability during evenings and weekends as required.
- Practice asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
- Assess, develop, retain, and recruit IT talent to support ongoing business needs; assign responsibilities, coach and mentor staff, evaluate performance, and prepare evaluations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3+ years in IT Services with a focus on service desk management within manufacturing, chemicals, or oil & gas industries.
- Proficiency in IT management and governance processes: change, configuration, asset, release, patch, incident, and request management.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills for emerging technology challenges.
- Highly self‑motivated, directed, with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a large environment with multiple direct reports.
- Previous supervisory experience or contractor management considered an asset.
- Familiarity with ITIL practices for IT service management is an asset.
- Some experience in a project management environment is an asset.
- Base salary range: $99,500 – $139,900, subject to education, experience, and role scope.
