Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Collection, Management, and Process Improvement

Develop and maintain databases and data collection procedures for student affairs programs and services, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards, including FERPA requirements. Work collaboratively with various Student Affairs departments, including admissions, recruitment, counseling, financial aid, testing, and student life, to identify data needs and establish consistent reporting protocols. Identify opportunities to streamline data collection and reporting processes and recommend enhancements to existing systems and workflows.

Stay current with best practices in institutional research and student data analytics.

Analysis, Reporting, and Program Evaluation

Analyze student data to assess program effectiveness, identify trends, and measure outcomes against established benchmarks. Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and visualizations for stakeholders across Student Affairs, translating complex data findings into actionable insights for program directors and administrators. Support assessment initiatives by collecting and analyzing data on student learning outcomes, retention, engagement, and satisfaction. Conduct statistical analyses to evaluate the impact of student affairs programs and services.

Document findings and recommendations in comprehensive evaluation reports.

Stakeholder Support and Training

Provide training and support to help Student Affairs staff members access, interpret, and utilize data for decision-making. Respond to ad hoc data requests and analytical questions from leadership and departmental staff. Maintain confidential student records in compliance with institutional and regulatory standards. Collaborate with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.

This position collaborates across Enrollment Management, Financial Aid, Advising, Institutional Research, Academic Affairs, Information Technology, and Student Services to identify trends, measure program effectiveness, and support evidence-based decision-making.

Measure ROI for student success investments. Assist with special projects as assigned by the Director of Institutional Research or designated Student Affairs administrator. Perform other duties, tasks, and assignments as required to support the Student Affairs division.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Higher Education Administration, or a related field

Required Experience

Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in higher education data analytics, institutional research, or student affairs assessment.

Advanced proficiency in SQL and business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Experience with student information systems (e.g., Ellucian Banner, Colleague, Workday Student, or People Soft). Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization techniques. Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics tools and automation platforms. Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
