JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
This multi-level posting (Analyst I–Sr) serves the Power Generation PMO across a portfolio of new construction and expansions of existing sites. The analyst will support project managers throughout execution and commissioning by performing analytics on financials, procurement, schedule, and resourcing performance to deliver forecasting risk reports and impact reporting on realized risks. The position builds and maintains tools such as models and dashboards, to enable transparent insights for supporting timely decisions and portfolio optimization.
The Analyst will work closely with the project controls team to adhere to and advance project controls and work management processes.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain analytical models, dashboards, and reports that track cost, schedule, procurement, and resourcing performance across assigned capital projects.
- Aggregate and analyze data from ERP, procurement, scheduling, and field systems to produce actionable insights and executive-ready visualizations.
- Establish and maintain cost baselines, forecasts, accruals, and earned value metrics aligned to project schedules and commissioning milestones; ensure robust change management and KPI reporting.
- Provide predictive/preventative forecasting to anticipate variances and risks; quantify impacts of realized risks and recommend mitigations.
- Support PMs through stage-gate governance, development-to-execution handovers, and monthly/quarterly performance reviews.
- Conduct forensic cost analyses and variance investigations; prepare auditable documentation consistent with company and SOX standards.
- Partner with project teams, engineering, supply chain, finance, and IT to resolve data/system issues, improve data quality, and drive adoption of standard processes.
- Lead and perform quality control checks on datasets, calculations, and reports to ensure accuracy, rationale, and traceability; document analyses using consistent methodology and nomenclature.
- Monitor market conditions, long-lead procurement, and contractor performance; identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the portfolio.
- Develop scenario models to evaluate options and trade-offs; communicate findings with clarity and visual impact for decision‑making.
- Maintain and enhance reporting solutions in Excel and Power BI; support Access databases where applicable; contribute to Power Platform automation (e.g., Power Query/Power Automate).
- Promote a safety-first culture and adherence to compliance requirements in all analyses and interactions.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, finance/accounting, economics, statistics, or business‑related field; or equivalent work experience.
Minimum experience required of the position
- Analyst I: 0–2 years of professional experience.
- Analyst II: 2–4 years of professional experience.
- Analyst III: 4–6 years of professional experience.
- Analyst Sr: 6+ years of professional experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
- Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; strong data modeling and visualization skills; familiarity with PowerPoint for executive presentations.
- Experience with cost/forecasting tools; understanding of procurement and contract accrual processes.
- Working knowledge of project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project) and integration with cost and resource plans.
- Consistent documentation, records management discipline, and quality control methodology.
- An understanding of power generation and capital project life cycles, commissioning, and commercial practices.
