We are seeking a Cyberspace Operations Specialist, to support the MARFORSOUTH G3/9 Operation Support contract. This project will support the MARFORSOUTH G-3/9 in executing information warfare capacities. This is a full-time, on-site position working 40 hours per week, 0730 – 1630 Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays at the MARFORSOUTH Headquarters, New Orleans, LA.

what will the Cyberspace Operations Specialist at Terrestris do?

The Cyberspace Operations Specialist will be a personnel position for the MARFORSOUTH G3/9 Operation Support contract, providing cyberspace operations expertise supporting MARFORSOUTH G-39 planning, integration, synchronization, risk assessment, and coordination of cyber capabilities across the USSOUTHCOM AOR. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What does a typical day look like for a Cyberspace Operations Specialist?

You will:

  • Provide cyberspace operations subject matter expertise to the MARFORSOUTH G-39 on the planning, integration, and synchronization of cyberspace capabilities.
  • Assist in the drafting of plans, annexes, appendices, and orders for full-spectrum cyberspace operations in support of operations, contingencies, and exercises.
  • Analyze operational requirements and identify opportunities to integrate cyberspace capabilities to create desired outcomes and support the commander's objectives.
  • Incorporate cyber threat intelligence into the planning process to inform risk assessments and the development of courses of action.
  • Review cyberspace operations plans and provide recommendations to ensure compliance with DoW, DON, and USMC policies, as well as all applicable legal guidance and authorities.
  • Develop and provide assessments on the operational risks and potential collateral effects associated with planned cyberspace operations.
  • Interface routinely with the MARFORSOUTH G-6, Marine Corps Cyberspace Operations units, USSOUTHCOM, and other theater cyber entities to coordinate and deconflict plans and operations.
  • Travel as required, up to 40 days per year, to OCONUS locations in the U.S. Southern Command Area of Responsibility (AOR) or the Caribbean.
  • Support MARFORSOUTH operational planning teams, tasker reviews, and planning conferences by providing recommendations and gathering information to facilitate planning.
What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • A current Top Secret clearance with CI Poligraph is required.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in cyberspace operations, with at least three (3) years focused on the planning and integration of cyberspace capabilities (Offensive and Defensive) at the operational or strategic level.
  • Demonstrated experience with Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO), Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), targeting in cyberspace, adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) emulation, and vulnerability exploitation.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard offensive security tools and frameworks. Examples include Cobalt Strike, Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Nmap.
  • Working knowledge of policies and legal authorities governing cyberspace operations.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical vulnerabilities, capabilities, and their operational impacts to non-technical staff and leadership.
