Job Description

Intralox L.L.C., the world leader in conveyor equipment solutions utilizing modular plastic conveyor belts, is seeking a Technical Support Engineer for our New Orleans, LA location. This position reports to the Supervisor – Technical Support, US.

Intralox, a division of Laitram, L.L.C., provides innovative conveyor belt technology and services that improve lives and optimize business worldwide. The team delivers fast, reliable solutions and supports customers across automotive, industrial manufacturing, consumer goods, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as an advanced-level remote troubleshooter and problem-solver for US and Canadian markets.
  • Recommend solutions to customers and manage resolution of issues that require additional input or longer-term paths.
  • Make fast, independent decisions based on operational and commercial principles.
  • Provide technical assistance to Customer Service, Account Managers, and Customers by phone, written correspondence, or web‑conferencing.
  • Conduct field visits to understand emerging issues, evaluate new field problems, and support continuous improvement.
  • Identify recurring issues and communicate them to product design and project management groups.
  • Collaborate with customer service, account managers, field service technicians, project managers, and Intralox design and testing teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical controls engineering, or related discipline.
  • At least one year of experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and solving technical problems remotely.
  • Service‑mindful, self‑managed mentality with ownership of a high‑quality customer experience.
  • Strong questioning skills to understand customer needs and communicate solutions internally.
  • Ability to manage customer expectations while maintaining a service‑oriented mindset.
  • Commercial affinity with experience communicating directly with customers.
  • Experience reading and understanding AutoCAD (2D and 3D) and other CAD tools for equipment configuration.
  • Computer systems knowledge (order entry, databases, Excel, etc.).
  • Willingness to travel; 25 % travel per month, higher during initial training.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with problem/complaint resolution and recommending solutions.
  • Experience in customer‑facing roles.
  • Experience with packaging or material handling equipment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Prior PLC/controls experience.

Salary and Incentives

Salary range: $68,200 to $147,300.

This position may qualify for commissions, discretionary incentives, or production incentives.
