Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Title Attorney to join our Default Servicing team. You will oversee the legal aspects of examining the real estate title, protecting our client creditor rights, providing high-quality counsel, and ensuring the company follows all laws and attorney agreement recommended guidelines. The ideal candidate has an extensive understanding of a real estate title and curative plans with a proven track record as a successful Legal Counsel.

Responsibilities
  • Provide sound legal advice to clients and manage the title department on title curative matters including title issue resolution and title claims.
  • Monitor compliance with Client Attorney Agreements.
  • Prepare comprehensive title reporting with resolution strategies.
  • Research and analyze the ability to move the files to First Legal and Service and Sale.
  • Perform legal research and extensive due diligence.
  • Review, modify, and examine real estate title searches relating to the LA Foreclosure process.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records in case management and all client systems.
Qualifications
  • Successful completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school and bar exam.
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Previous experience as a Legal Counsel.
  • Knowledge of a real estate title.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Case management systems.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills to manage the Title Department.
  • Ability to collaborate with first legal and title paralegals to best serve clients.
