Sessions, Israel & Shartle, LLC is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to support our litigation practice group. Our firm operates nationally with 11 offices and represents the financial services industry in consumer defense, commercial litigation, compliance, regulatory, and related matters.
This role is ideal for a highly organized legal professional with 2–3 years of law firm experience who thrives in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment and enjoys supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation.
Position OverviewThe Legal Assistant provides critical administrative and litigation support to attorneys within the firm’s defense practice. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities while ensuring timely and accurate filings.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, format, and assist with court filings and related documents
- Maintain and track deadlines using a computerized docket management system
- Assist attorneys with assembling pleadings, exhibits, and supplemental documents
- Coordinate e‑filing in state and federal courts
- Maintain organized electronic files in a paperless environment
- Assist in obtaining and organizing client documentation
- Review client‑provided information for completeness and accuracy
- Document time entries in accordance with client billing requirements
- Provide clerical and administrative support, including scheduling, travel coordination, and handling incoming calls
- Communicate professionally with clients and internal team members
- 2–3 years of experience in a law firm environment
- Demonstrated familiarity with litigation processes
- E‑filing experience required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and PDF software
- Experience working in a paperless, deadline‑driven environment
- Strong organizational skills and consistent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines
- Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently
- $50,000 - $62,000 annual salary
