Job Overview

A top Insurance Defense firm in NOLA is hiring 2 Paralegals with experience in high-volume insurance defense. Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 per year. The role will support attorneys in litigation support, legal research, and trial preparation in a fast‑paced, high‑stakes environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on various insurance defense matters.
  • Review and summarize medical records, depositions, and other case‑related documents.
  • Coordinate and manage timelines for various cases, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Organize and maintain case files, including managing electronic databases and physical records.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including the creation of exhibits, witness preparation, and coordination of logistics.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts as necessary.
  • Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and drafting correspondence.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years as a paralegal, preferably within a high‑volume insurance defense setting.
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA‑approved program or equivalent legal studies (nice to have).
  • Extensive experience in litigation support and thorough understanding of the litigation process.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, such as Westlaw or Lexis Nexis.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with legal case management software is a plus.
