Shipping and Inventory Associate

The Shipping and Inventory Associate plays a vital role in safeguarding the extraordinary works entrusted to M.S. Rau. This position supports the seamless movement, storage, and care of fine art, antiques, and luxury goods within our world‑class gallery.

Working closely with our Art Handlers and Restoration team, this role ensures that every object – from acquisition to delivery – is handled with precision, expertise, and the highest level of care. The Shipping and Inventory Associate is instrumental in maintaining operational excellence while upholding the standards of a globally respected luxury institution.

Your Role Will Include
  • Handling, transporting, and displaying fine art and antiques within a large modern gallery environment
  • Coordinating condition reviews, packing, and shipping of highly delicate and valuable merchandise
  • Preparing shipments using shipping software, generating labels, and finalizing logistics details
  • Managing requests for shipping quotes and communicating findings
  • Organizing outbound product queues to ensure timely and accurate dispatch
  • Monitoring and learning inventory repair and maintenance needs
  • Updating and tracking merchandise movement through gallery management software
  • Performing regular inventory checks and reviewing condition reports for accuracy and quality assurance
  • Supporting safe packaging, crating, and transport of luxury goods to preserve condition and value
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or some college coursework in a related field
  • 1+ year of experience in shipping, logistics, or inventory management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with Salesforce, Quip, or similar business software
  • Carpentry or furniture restoration skills, including frame repair, furniture polishing, or crate building
  • Knowledge of fine art, antiques, or luxury goods

Compensation & Work Schedule

Compensation will be comprised of a very competitive salary with eligibility to earn quarterly and annual bonuses.

  • Usual hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. with rotating Saturdays required
  • Occasional evening work as needed to support evening events
