Inventory Control & Analysis
This job plans, organizes, manages and controls activities related to operating room inventory management.
Responsibilities- Manages inventory tracking across acquisition, use, and disposal for the Operating Room service unit.
- Develops, implements, and monitors strategies for supply cost reduction and utilization management.
- Manages the Lawson inventory system and maintains accurate supply inventory in SSI.
- Fosters and maintains effective relationships between the surgical team and materials management division.
- Provides oversight of processes for OR supply, inventory control, and receiving.
- Ensures implementation and maintenance of Lawson Supply Management System for OR.
- Maintains supply database and preference cards within SIS.
- Performs other related duties as required.
High school diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of experience in inventory management or customer-focused role in healthcare materials management. Alternatively, 3 years of experience with a bachelor's degree.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)- Knowledge of operating room supplies/medical products and computerized inventory systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a pre-programmed database.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to be self-directed and manage major projects with limited supervision.
- Ability to work variable hours.
- Develops and maintains an effective supply management system.
- Provides effective management of processes for OR supply, inventory control, and receiving.
- Ensures proper implementation and maintenance of the Lawson Supply Management System as it pertains to the OR.
- Ensures proper maintenance of the supply database and preference cards within SIS.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. No exposure to blood, body fluid or tissue. No risk of communicable diseases. Occupational exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste may occur through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
