Our client, a leading organization in the industrial and manufacturing sector, is seeking a Buyer to support procurement and sourcing operations at their Plaquemine facility. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services to maintain seamless plant operations.
Responsibilities- Purchase and expedite delivery of raw materials, equipment, spare parts, supplies, and services to support ongoing operations.
- Negotiate contracts and purchase agreements under management direction for materials, services, and new project requirements.
- Collaborate with internal departments to fulfill purchasing needs and provide timely updates on order status.
- Conduct supplier audits, build and manage vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Prepare and analyze RFQs; review purchase orders and requisitions for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain organized purchasing records and support documentation retrieval.
- Monitor market trends and apply insights to strategic sourcing and cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure vendor contracts are accurate and compliant with company policies.
- Participate in meetings and assist with other procurement-related activities as needed.
Physical Requirements
Primarily office-based role with occasional plant visits. May involve sitting for extended periods and occasional standing, walking, bending, or climbing stairs. Use of PPE required in designated plant areas.
Requirements- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and work collaboratively across departments.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roles.
