Job DescriptionAbout the Role
At LDC, our Operations Supervisors are at the center of our export operations—ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate movement of grain through our facilities. This role is based in Port Allen, LA
, supporting a high-capacity export elevator and working a 12-hour rotating day/night shift to support a 24/7 operation.
We’re looking for a hands‑on, team-oriented leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can balance people leadership, systems management, and operational execution. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, discipline around documentation, and the ability to work closely across teams to keep operations running smoothly.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
Operational Coordination (Barge & Truck Movement)
- Oversee inbound and outbound grain movement across barge and truck operations
- Coordinate daily logistics including unloading, loading, and product flow
- Ensure correct routing of commodities to bins and inventory systems
- Act as the central communication point between operators, drivers, and fleet teams
Systems & Documentation Management (Critical to Success)
- Accurately input and manage operational data in systems such as GMS, Tow Works, and DPR
- Maintain real‑time visibility of inventory, barge status, and product grades
- Ensure all tickets, grading information, and shipment documentation are complete and accurate
- Identify and resolve discrepancies quickly to prevent operational delays
This role requires strong systems capability and a high level of ownership over documentation accuracy.
People Leadership & Team Environment
- Lead, coach, and support hourly employees and contractors in daily operations
- Foster a collaborative, team‑first environment across shifts and functions
- Reinforce accountability, safety standards, and operational expectations
- Partner closely with maintenance, logistics, and leadership teams

Safety & Facility Oversight
- Champion a strong safety culture through inspections, audits, and daily oversight
- Ensure compliance with all company, environmental, and safety standards
- Coordinate maintenance activities and issue permits as needed
- Lead safety meetings and ensure adherence to all procedures
What You Bring:
Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses
High school diploma or GED
Valid Driver’s license
Valid TWIC Card
Preferred qualifications:
College degree in a related discipline (industrial/maritime/agriculture curriculum)
Some continuing education (e.g., industrial safety and environmental related subjects)
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, or bulk logistics operations
- Understanding of logistics (e.g., vessel, rail, truck) and inventory management
- Demonstrated people leadership experience in a team‑based environment
- Strong proficiency working in systems and managing operational data
- Proven ability to maintain accurate documentation and operational records
- Strong communication and coordination skills across teams
- High attention to detail and strong time management
Preferred
- Experience in grain handling, agriculture, or bulk commodities
- Exposure to control room or logistics coordination environments
- Knowledge of grain grading, USDA standards, or similar
- Safety training or familiarity with OSHA standards
