Responsibilities

To perform assigned cleaning duties in all offices and restrooms, including but not limited to dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, sweeping, and mopping.

To clean hard floors and carpets as assigned.

To accept any job task as assigned by the supervisor, assistant supervisor, or lead worker.

Hard Floor and Carpet Cleaning

• Measure spot cleaning solution and water in the mop bucket, soak and wring out yarn bonnet, and proceed to spot carpet, turning the pad as needed.
• Use a rotary machine to spot clean carpets by bonnet method.
• Shampoo carpet with a self-contained extractor, carefully measuring chemicals and water to correct proportions.
• Dust mop and damp mop with neutral cleaner; use a high‑speed machine to buff floors; use a dust mop to remove powder created by buffing.

Office Cleaning

• Dust all horizontal surfaces, being careful not to disturb papers or open desk drawers.
• Remove all trash and replace receptacle liners; bring trash to the designated disposal area.
• Vacuum all carpet areas, extending the cleaner under desks, along walls, and moving items that can be moved easily.
• Clean chalkboards, erasers, and other classroom supplies.

Restroom Cleaning

• Service all paper dispensers to capacity.
• Remove all trash and replace receptacle liners; bring trash to the designated disposal area.
• Swab toilet bowls, ensuring cleaning under the rims; damp wipe toilet seats, lids, and sides of the bowl; leave the lid in the raised position.
• Clean all mirrors with glass cleaner; dust above the mirrors and around air vents; wipe down pipes under the sinks and polish all stainless‑steel fixtures.
• Clean shower stalls daily.
• Wipe down bathroom walls, door sills, and partitions with disinfectant cleaner.
• Broom sweep and damp mop using disinfectant cleaner.

Garage Maintenance

• Spot clean oil and grease spillage using absorbent that requires crushing with the foot.
• Police assigned area for debris (including but not limited to paper, cigarette butts, dirt, and other trash) using a broom and dust pan.
• Empty all trash cans and replace liners as needed.
• Clean ashtrays by removing ashes, butts, nicotine build‑up, and tar stains.

Outside Maintenance

• Police the designated area and remove trash (including but not limited to cigarette butts, boxes, and other foreign debris) using a broom and dust pan.
• Service the push sweeper before use (check oil level before starting).
• Machine sweep using the push sweeper.

General

• Report to work when scheduled for periodic work.

• Read and communicate clearly in English.
• Work a flexible schedule on short notice, including nights and weekends, and occasionally long or extended hours.

• Lift and carry objects up to 10 lb frequently and 20 lb occasionally.
• Vision corrected to within normal limits.
• Engage in prolonged standing, walking, and frequent bending, stooping, stretching, and climbing stairs.
• Function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.

Requirements

• Training or experience in the custodial field required.
• Must wear company‑issued uniform.

Working Conditions

Frequent physical exertion, exposure to cleaning chemicals and potentially infectious materials, and some duties will require working in inclement weather conditions.
