Maintenance Technician

Overview

Maintenance Technician at Clover New Orleans supports the day‑to‑day operation of multiple facilities, performing preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks while ensuring building efficiency and compliance with health and safety standards.

• Perform skilled and semi‑skilled maintenance activities, including electrical, plumbing, painting, groundskeeping, and carpentry work.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies, notifying management when levels fall below established par.
• Train and mentor new maintenance and custodial staff.
• Coordinate with contracted vendors for heavy repairs of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Process work orders, complete assignments, and report progress to the Maintenance Manager.
• Conduct periodic building inspections and report deficiencies to the Director of Facilities Operations and the Maintenance Manager.
• Ensure safe storage of hazardous chemicals and comply with Safety Data Sheet requirements.
• Adhere to safety regulations, use proper PPE, and enforce health and safety policies in all tasks.
• Work emergency overtime, participate in pre‑ and post‑hurricane and other emergency events, and support agency accreditation quality improvement processes.

• High school diploma or GED; AA degree preferred.
• Three to five years of skilled or semi‑skilled maintenance and janitorial experience; minimum three years supervisory experience.
• Proven ability to perform general carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and janitorial tasks.
• Knowledge of cleaning and waxing compounds, heating and ventilating equipment, floor buffers, and custodial equipment.
• Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and communication skills; detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and prioritize workload.
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license.

• Heavy lifting up to 100 lbs; considerable moving, pushing, pulling, and carrying of janitorial cart and other equipment.
• Considerable time on feet, standing, and walking, both inside and outside; access small and confined spaces.

Salary: $20.43/hour (BOE)
