Utility Senior Services Manager; Finance​/Budget; Class Code 3095

Overview

Professional, supervisory, administrative and technical work directing all activities relating to the Sewerage and Water Board’s Finance Administration Division. This position functions as second in command to the Comptroller of Finance, supervising staff, establishing management controls, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local regulations, and performing related duties as required.

Plan, assign, and review the work of lower‑level managers; supervise a staff of professional, technical, and clerical employees; establish and monitor management controls for the operational area; ensure compliance with all applicable regulations pertaining to Board operations; and perform other related tasks as needed.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a closely related field with at least twenty‑four (24) semester hours of accounting.
• Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience, including two (2) years at an exempt (salaried) level with both supervision and preparation or auditing of comprehensive financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Permanent status with the Sewerage & Water Board in a class of work having a pay grade equal to or higher than Utility Services Manager (pay grade 88) and two (2) years of budget/finance/accounting work at that level.

Domicile requirements are currently waived for the purpose of application. Residency requirements are waived for all Sewerage and Water Board positions advertised for at least 90 days. Employees hired under this waiver remain exempt from the city’s residency requirement for the duration of their employment.
