The Position:
The Student Services Director at Clermont Northeastern Schools provides strategic leadership and oversight of special education and student support services to ensure high-quality, compliant, and equitable programming that meets the diverse needs of all learners. This is a full-time, 260/261-day contract position.
Summary of
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Special Education Programming Oversight: Leads the development, implementation, and evaluation of special education programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and alignment with district goals
- Student Services and Related Services Oversight: Supervises and supports district-level special education staff and related service providers to ensure effective service delivery and professional growth
- Administrative
Collaboration:
Collaborates with principals and district leaders to determine staffing, improve programming, and support student outcomes across buildings - Budget Management: Manages budgets, grants, and fiscal resources to ensure efficient and effective use of funds for student services
- Compliance Oversight: Oversees compliance processes including IEPs, Section 504, Medicaid billing, and reporting to state agencies
- Community Liaison: Builds partnerships with families, community agencies, and state organizations to support student success and expand services
- Trust and Transparency: Acts with honesty in all presentations and keeps the Board and community informed of trends and policies to ensure shared responsibility
- Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with staff, families, and community partners to support student achievement and well-being
- Follow-Through: Develops and meets timelines for multiple initiatives, maintaining a relentless commitment to our collective priorities
- Kindness and Empathy: Treats all individuals with care and professionalism, even in moments of challenge or systemic change
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Must hold a valid State of Ohio Superintendent's Certificate or License
- Compliance: Successful completion of BCI/FBI background checks and a valid Driver's License
- Expertise: Deep understanding of school district processes, data-driven priority setting, and the ability to facilitate people through systemic change
- Resilience: Ability to serve as a role model for students and staff, demonstrating problem-solving and empathy in all interactions
Working Conditions:
The role requires maintaining visibility in school buildings and includes occasional operation of a vehicle in inclement weather and the ability to take immediate action in cases of emergency to maintain a culture of safety.
