Position Summary

The Dental Practice Manager oversees the daily operations and activities for the Dental Program at Crescent Care that will operate out of two separate locations. The Practice Manager will work closely with clinical, non-clinical and billing staff as the business manager for the program. This position also provides day-to-day oversight and operations management and will guide the Crescent Care Dental Program toward future growth and success.

Key

Duties and Responsibilities Manager
  • Establishes work standards and team member goals and objectives.
  • Directs, implements, and supports strategies and action plans for areas of responsibility.
  • Oversee daily office activities and provide direction and guidance to staff as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with local regulations and that professional and support staff properly implement clinical policies and procedures.
  • Supervises the non-clinical staff, interviews and hires new staff members, and reviews staff performance.
  • Recruit and train new candidates in assigned jobs.
  • Assist in employee performance evaluation, promotion, termination, and retention activities
  • Review and approve vacations, sick leave and unpaid leave for staff.
  • Identify areas of improvements and concerns and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Perform inventory control and management to support cost reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee staff scheduling on shift basis to ensure full coverage for both locations.
Patient Access & Flow
  • Plan and manage dental office operations to ensure excellent patient support services & the optimal patient experience
  • Ensure that patient appointments, cancellations and last-minute adjustments are handled properly.
  • Performs, supervises, coordinates, and/or monitors the work activity related to patient injuries, self-pay collections, and payment posting.
  • Respond to patient queries and issues and ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Resolves issues with patients, staff, and suppliers.
Finance
  • Oversee payment collections from patients and contact insurance office for payment settlements
  • Prepares and analyzes financial and practice activity reports.
  • Assists in budget preparation and expense management activities.
  • Submits accurate and timely payroll information & oversees time and attendance
  • Approves vendor lists and processes procurement items for the Dental office.
  • Resolves issues with patients, staff, and suppliers.
Team Leader
  • Participates in organizational committees and regular management meetings.
  • Communicates with the Dentists, Hygienists, and Assistants on a regular basis regarding needs of the office and conducts regular scheduled meetings
  • Produces reports for senior management, as needed.
  • Identifies internal/external training needs and provides for staff development.
  • Troubleshoots problems and develops recommendations for resolution.
  • Performs yearly review of Dental operations policy and procedures and updates as practice evidence changes.
  • Assists in marketing and expansion activities for the Crescent Care Dental Program
  • Identifies, establishes, and evaluates quality assurance and compliance within the office practice, in keeping with Crescent Care policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications
  • The minimum education level required for the position is a bachelor's degree
  • Master's degree in business administration or healthcare management preferred
  • The minimum experiential level preferred for the position is 3 years in a Dental Practice Management position
  • Experience with Dentrix or eClinical

    Works highly preferred
  • Previous experience working at a Federally Qualified Health Center is preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) applicants preferred
