Maintenance Manager, Operations Management
The Maintenance Supervisor will report directly to the Maintenance Superintendent and will be responsible for the safety, routine, and major maintenance activities within their area of responsibility. They will supervise the Planners and Technicians in their assigned area of responsibility and will work closely with the Area Operations to maintain customer satisfaction as well as optimize spending and work efficiencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Supervises and manages the overall maintenance efforts and hourly workforce within their area of responsibility.
- Ensures maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with Shintech policies and procedures. Indicates necessary actions when equipment mechanical problems arise.
- Oversees the planning, scheduling, and execution of routine and major maintenance activities within their area and works with the planners, technicians, and operations on a daily basis.
- Improves work efficiency working with the warehouse to improve material deliveries and material stock.
- Ensures the Maintenance Workflow Process is being followed and executed correctly to maximize efficiency and maintain customer satisfaction.
- Manages and supports all emergent and urgent work within their area of responsibility
- Develops next days work list from the weekly schedule and communicates to Operations and Maintenance personnel.
- Manages and optimizes overall spending within their area. Track's progress of work in their area and documents lessons learned for future planning and scheduling.
- Oversees backlog management efforts within their area of responsibility.
- Develops repair timelines for critical equipment undergoing routine and major maintenance work. Maintains equipment history and records for future repairs.
- Evaluates, mentors/develops, coaches, and provides feedback (positive or developmental) to the planners and technicians as necessary.
- Improves efficient execution of maintenance activities by ensuring aggressive daily/week schedules are not only developed but followed.
- Reviews KPIs, corrects schedule disruptions, and resolves barriers in each area of their responsibility.
- Assists with sharing craft resources in their area of responsibility.
- Helps improve work order priorities and allocation of resources when necessary.
- Assists with overtime management to reduce overtime percentages.
- Improves communication between Maintenance and other departments (Operations, Engineering, Safety, etc.) in their area of responsibility.
- Acts as Maintenance Superintendent in their absence and attends meetings as requested.
- Works directly with the Electrical, Instrument, Analyzer, and Mechanical Supervisors regarding the craft workforce needs and support.
- Assists with the general contractor workforce development.
Experience:
- Technical degree or equivalent experience and background in the mechanical field.
- Five to seven years' experience in the mechanical field in a chemical plant.
- Some supervisor experience preferred.

- Regularly required to push, pull, bend and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations.
- Occasionally required to stoop and kneel.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to coordinate the movement of eyes, hands, feet, and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
- Required to be medically certified for respirator and medically fit for duty.
- Use of PPE required in specific areas.
- Chemical manufacturing facility.
- Professional office environment.
