GENERAL INFORMATION

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Branch Services, the Branch Manager oversees staff, buildings, and patron services for their assigned branch. The Branch Manager serves as a member of the Library’s Leadership Team, and represents the system to the public, outside organizations, and the branch's service community. While the position is responsible for managerial duties, it is also a working manager position, meaning they should be ready to step into any service point to cover staff absences or in times of need.

The South Branch is located in the southernmost section of Livingston Parish and serves a rural area. The branch is located in a very rural, sparsely populated area, meaning its service community is widely dispersed across a large geographic area. Many of the patrons who come to this location are homeschoolers, retirees, and local residents. This facility has a dedicated Meeting Room, numerous public computers, and a copy station.
