Job description:
We are seeking a skilled Rigger to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing wire rope products for sale by cutting them to specific sizes and ensuring they are properly finished with crimping and swaging. This role requires attention to detail and precision, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work efficiently with wire rope materials and equipment.
Cutting cable:
Measure and mark wire rope according to specifications provided. Safely operate cutting equipment, such as shears or saws, to cut wire rope to the required lengths. Inspect the cut ends for any defects, burrs, or irregularities and rectify them as needed.Swaging end fitting (press):
Utilize specialized machinery and tools to crimp and swage wire rope ends, ensuring they are securely fastened and in compliance with industry standards. Perform quality checks to confirm the accuracy of crimps and swages. Make adjustments as necessary to maintain product integrity.Splicing cable & rope:
Perform mechanical and hand splicing on wire and synthetic rope assemblies.Retest (inspecting cable):
Conduct regular inspections of the wire rope to identify any defects, inconsistencies, or damage. Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent contamination and ensure product quality.
Prior experience working in a rigging or sling fabrication shop such as DCL, ARS, Bishop, Delta Rigging, or similar.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to operate hydraulic presses, cutting tools, and sewing machines safely.
Understanding of load ratings, sling angles, and lifting standards (ASME B30.9 / OSHA ) is a plus.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years in rigging, sling fabrication, or wire rope assembly.Physical Requirements:
Able to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, and handle heavy materials.Work Ethic:
Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused.
Full-time position, Monday–Friday (overtime as needed).
Competitive pay based on experience.
