Role Summary

Join Joval's manufacturing team as a Department Lead. This is an opportunity for an individual seeking to advance their career by leading a department team of 6-8 individuals. This is a hands-on position and training will be provided. You will assemble prefabricated sheet metal components used in HVAC, plumbing, and roofing, support production flow, and help maintain quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices.
• Coordinate with the material handler and shop foreman to ensure Insulated Box department has all necessary W.I.P. (work in process) needed for the current days production before the start of the workday.
• Ensure the least amount of lost production time including but not limited to the following reasons: work stoppage, machine breakdowns, subordinates performing needles tasks, etc.
• Maintain a high level of accountability within the Insulated Box team.
• Responsible for promoting all Joval rules, regulations, and direction from the Joval management.
• Coach and train employees in insulated box department related to standard procedures, safety concerns, continuous quality improvement, and the safe operation of equipment.
• Responsible for approved preventative maintenance of the departments equipment and ensure end of shift "house cleaning" routine is performed daily and completely at the end of every shift.

• Communicate with the Shipping Manager if any products will not be ready or when they will be ready.
• Operate and maintain basic assembly tools and equipment; follow safety and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Complete production paperwork and digital logs accurately and on time.
• Safely handle fiberglass insulation and other materials when required, using provided PPE.
• Suggest small process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce rework.

• Meets daily production and quality targets with minimal rework.
• Demonstrates consistent safe work habits and proper use of PPE.
• Communicate effectively with leads and teammates about issues and improvements.
• Learning new tasks quickly and takes on additional responsibilities over time.

Minimum Qualifications

Required

• At least 1 yr prior experience managing a team of at least 6 members.
• Ability to safely lift and carry 50+ lbs. repeatedly.
• Comfortable standing for full shifts and performing repetitive physical tasks.
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as needed.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and complete simple paperwork.

Preferred

• Prior experience in manufacturing, assembly, or warehouse environments.
• Familiarity with hand tools and basic shop equipment.
• Experience reading simple diagrams or infographics.

• Some tasks involve handling fiberglass insulation; PPE and training provided.
