Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator / CNC Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will operate and program CNC press brake machines, to produce high-quality sheet metal components. This role requires precision, mechanical aptitude, and experience with various fabrication processes. The successful candidate will contribute to the efficient production of custom metal parts, ensuring adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
Duties
- Operate CNC press brake machines, to bend and form sheet metal according to detailed blueprints and specifications
- Program CNC press brakes using CAD/CAM software to set up accurate bends and angles
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications for precise fabrication
- Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal operation
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection and measurement verification
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job based on material type and project requirements
- Conduct quality inspections of finished parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety procedures at all times
- Assist with setup, changeover, and adjustments of CNC machinery as needed for production efficiency
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC press brakes
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, setup, and operation in a manufacturing environment
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes such as plasma cutting, laser cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, CNC milling machines, and welding is a plus
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings with an understanding of GD&T principles
- Mechanical knowledge related to tooling setup, machine maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Experience working with hand tools, calipers, micrometers, precision measuring instruments, and fabrication equipment such as cranes or forklifts is desirable
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations in fabrication tasks
- Knowledge of quality inspection standards and techniques for ensuring product accuracy and consistency
Physical Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-employment screening
- Ability to wear all required PPE for the position
- Ability to stand and walk throughout an 8–10 hour shift
- Ability to work indoors or outdoors in year-round weather, including rain
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs routinely and up to 75 lbs occasionally while utilizing all proper lifting procedures and practices
- Frequent stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
