The Sr. Maintenance Technician is a multi-skilled professional responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment and related control systems. This role requires expertise in electrical, electronic, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including PLCs and HMIs. The technician works to optimize equipment reliability and support efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diversified tasks to install and maintain production machines and facility equipment to maximize reliability and uptime.
- Provide emergency and scheduled maintenance services on production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose issues, replace or repair parts, perform testing, and make necessary adjustments.
- Utilize hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual situations to supervision.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
- Update preventive maintenance schedules and standard operating procedures to improve reliability.
- Train maintenance technicians and process operators in equipment operation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Disassemble equipment to access and remove defective parts, inspect components, and adjust or replace as needed.
- Install and lubricate machine parts; start equipment to test performance.
- Initiate purchase orders for parts, tools, or new machinery as needed.
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and maintenance standards per cGMP, GFSI, and OSHA 1910 regulations.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, service, and cost KPIs.
- May be asked to perform additional duties as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Passing score on a mechanical aptitude test required in lieu of diploma.
- Certificate from a college or technical school preferred.
- 5 years of relevant experience in equipment maintenance; experience in packaging machinery or consumer goods preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word); experience with SAP S/4
HANA or CMMS systems is a plus. - Understanding of CFR 110, cGMP, GFSI, and OSHA 1910 compliance standards.
- Familiarity with plumbing, electrical systems, and industrial/mechanical terminology.
- Internal Only: Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.
