Hourly Pay Range: $17.00 – $27.00 per hour
Position OverviewWe are seeking a safety-focused Assistant Machine Operator to support production operations in a high-volume, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for assisting in the setup, operation, cleanup, and optimization of production machinery to meet customer demand while maintaining strict adherence to safety, quality, and GMP standards.
The ideal candidate is dependable, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn machine operations while driving efficiencies, minimizing downtime, and maintaining excellent product quality.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Machine Operator in setup, operation, and cleanup of production equipment
- Work safely at all times in compliance with plant safety rules, GMP standards, and operating procedures
- Participate in Plant Safety Committee and promote a safety-first culture
- Maximize equipment utilization by supporting efficient machine operation at available capacity and speed
- Identify mechanical concerns and report issues to Production Supervisor or Production Manager
- Improve setup times and reduce downtime through proactive observation and communication
- Maintain housekeeping standards throughout shift and complete end-of-shift cleaning
- Assist with accurate completion of production, operational, safety, and quality reports
- Submit maintenance work order requests as needed and support preventative maintenance efforts
- Cross-train on additional machines and plant functions
- Switch duties with team members as needed to support production flow
- Work overtime as required, sometimes on short notice
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, with prior manufacturing or industrial experience required, or commensurate/equivalent experience
- Ability to follow safety procedures and GMP requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn machine operations
- Strong attention to detail with focus on both quality and efficiency
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to identify inefficiencies and proactively recommend improvements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to bend, lift, and move materials up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
- Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout shift
