Role Overview
Valve Technician / Painting Specialist for Richter Pumps & Valves. Assembles mechanical valves, fabricated parts and components into assemblies, sub‑assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. Fits, aligns, calibrates, and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements. Repairs units that fail to meet quality, technical, or customer specifications. Painting Specialist prepares, coats, and finishes industrial valves to ensure corrosion protection, durability, and proper identification.
Duties- Assemble and test valves according to engineering instructions and technical manuals.
- Disassemble and reassemble complex mechanical systems, positioning and fastening units to assemblies or frames with hand and power tools.
- Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment to transport or position large parts.
- Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment.
- Maintain system logs or manuals documenting testing or operation of equipment, including test results, material usage, and identification numbers.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, technical orders or procedures to determine component parts, methods, and sequences of valve assembly.
- Maintain a clean working environment and perform housekeeping.
- Perform light automation for various style valves.
- Understand inventory management system and correctly issue components.
- Apply primers, paints, and protective coatings using spray guns.
- Clean, sandblast, or otherwise prepare valve surfaces for painting or coatings.
- Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications.
- Perform touch‑ups or rework as necessary to meet specifications.
- Inspect surfaces and completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
Skills and Abilities
- Reading and writing in English.
- Computer literacy.
- Forklift operation.
- Valve and pump experience.
- JDE experience.
- Industrial or automotive painting experience.
Minimum requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; mechanical aptitude and good math skills; 3–5 years of industry experience.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Manual dexterity and good hand‑eye coordination.
- Comfortable working in paint booths.
- Ability to wear PPE such as respirators and protective clothing.
