Quality Control Technician

In this position you will work in various quarries to obtain samples from the crushing plants and the aggregate piles to perform routine laboratory tests of highway construction material.

Wendling Quarries, Inc. (WQI) is a third-generation family owned and operated business that produces crushed stone, sand and gravel for individuals and businesses in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.

• Work around industrial equipment and machinery to obtain materials samples from production facilities such as conveyors, stockpiles, and/or customer sites.
• Perform (Asphalt and PCC Quality Control Test) in lab or on roadway, compile test data in order to make Plant to Roadway adjustments.
• Follow specification set forth by the IDOT agencies Per I. M’s. (Sampling, Testing, Stockpile oversight and signage, etc....)
• Work safely with adherence to Wendling Quarries safety policy

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
