Optoelectronic Module Prefabrication Technician

For our technology center for optical modules in Böblingen (near Stuttgart), we are looking for a precision mechanic/micro assembler (m/f/d) for optoelectronic prefabrication in the laboratory environment.

This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy precise manual work, micro assembly, and working under a microscope and would like to participate in the production of highly precise optical modules.

Responsibilities:

• Independent assembly of optomechanical and optoelectronic assemblies in the laboratory
• Performing fine assembly processes such as gluing, soldering, and bonding (e.g., wire bonding)
• Working with microscopes and high-resolution inspection systems
• Performing optical measurements and manual rework on precision components
• Assisting in the production of highly complex optical modules
• Ensuring high quality standards and careful handling of sensitive components

Qualifications:

• Completed technical training, e.g., as:
• Precision mechanic
• Mechatronic engineer
• Industrial mechanic
• or comparable qualification/experience
• Alternatively, lateral entrants with very good fine motor skills, e.g.:
• Goldsmith
• Dental technician
• Proficient fine motor skills and precise work
• Interest in optics, electronics, or microtechnology
• Structured, careful, and independent working style
• Team orientation and willingness to take responsibility

Nice to have:

• Experience in micro assembly or micro adjustment
• Practical experience with soldering, gluing, or bonding processes
• Experience in handling small, delicate components
• Basic knowledge of physical or technical contexts
