Forklift Operator, Material Handler
Job Description
Loader responsible for loading, unloading, packing and shipping parts.
Job Details- Pay range: $18 - $21 per hour (based on experience)
- Walk‑in interview:
Wednesday, 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM (walk‑ins welcome)
- Check, shuttle, move, and perform all essential functions of the Loader
- Load trucks and place parts on trailers in a safe manner in accordance with manufacturing procedures to prevent damage during shipment
- Package, crate, or load items to ensure safe arrival and proper capacity loading
- Use crating and packaging materials, metal bands, covering, or other methods to secure and protect parts in shipment and for weighing trucks of items as required
- Determine lift adequacy and decide when to check actual vs. maximum allowable trailer load
- Verify each load is complete before proceeding
- Expedite completion of work in process to meet production schedules
- Unload and check items against freight bills, packing lists, or shipping notices; record damages, shortages, or irregularities and notify Team Leader
- Provide on‑the‑job direction to new shipping/warehouse employees or other assistants
- Load/unload transfer trucks and load multi‑drop route trucks
- Assist with inventory counts as required
- Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area
- May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a high‑production manufacturing environment
- Willingness to cross‑train and be promo table
- Experience operating forklifts and other lifting equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
