Material Handler- Pipe Paint 1st Shift

Position Summary

Pick up and deliver materials/parts to and from work cells to finishing areas.

• Complete Material Request to replenish parts and materials for production.
• Receive, issue, store, and inspect material and parts that have been identified as replenishment.
• Pick-up and deliver replenishment parts to the designated work area(s).
• Pick-up and deliver the order card(s) to the appropriate planner as noted on the card.
• Use computer system and PC to make inquiries and track availability of inventory.
• Maintain the Wait-Delivery Board and notify the appropriate department supervisor of material and/or parts that are not received on the expected day.
• Perform physical inventories and cycle counts.
• Perform data entry functions to key in move ticket information.
• Close work orders.
• Use/operate miscellaneous material handling equipment (dollies, pallet jack, forklift) to move materials.
• Other duties as needed and directed by the supervisor.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Must be able to lift parts weighing up to 50 lbs without assistance; parts weighing over 50 lbs requires a team lift.
• Must be certified forklift operator.
• Must have basic math skills including addition/subtraction of fractions and decimal values for determining material, manufacturing, and inspection requirements.
• Must have ability to use/operate miscellaneous material handling equipment.
• Must have basic reading/writing ability to read and interpret manufacturing orders and material requirements as well as to report production.

• Forklift experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Hazardous Waste Handler Awareness and satellite accumulation (including but not limited to caps, labelling, dating).
• Periodically removing satellite waste containers and deliver to less than central accumulation area.
• Annual RCRA Training including Emergency Coordinator (secondary) refresher, Contingency Plan training, RCR hazardous waste training.
