Role OverviewIn this role you will be responsible for planning and controlling production, ensuring that production requirements are met daily through analysis and reporting of production status, material supply/demand alignment, and forecasting impacts. You will work with the management team to meet deadlines and prevent line stoppages and delays.
Responsibilities- Create, release, and update discrete jobs based on analysis of production needs, capacity, schedule, and sequencing.
- Review material availability and perform the necessary steps to maintain schedule, including material transfers and purchase requisitions.
- Continuously review job start/stop dates and update as necessary.
- Plan, review, and maintain production progress to support production teams in meeting daily and weekly requirements.
- Create and maintain production control boards for each craft.
- Recommend corrective action needed to maintain the production schedule.
- Work closely with other departments (Production, Warehouse, Supply Management) to manage product flow and prevent line stoppages.
- Ensure required parts or assemblies reach installation points at the proper time, sequence, and quantity according to schedule.
- Assess reasons for delays in delivery of parts and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
A BS degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Position Requirements- Three (3) or more years of experience in manufacturing, inventory/warehousing control, production control/planning, or scheduling.
- Demonstrated knowledge of fabrication processes and ability to formulate fabrication sequences from engineering data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self‑starter capable of working in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Knowledge of multi‑level bill of material structure.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Analytical and detail‑oriented skills.
- Oracle system knowledge preferred.
Physical demands have been validated by on‑site job analysis and are representative of the essential functions of this job.
- Postural: Ability to move extremities and spine across a range of motion from floor to overhead level; occasional trunk twisting and awkward postures.
- Dexterity: Use one or two hands for hand tools and material handling throughout the work period.
- Cardiorespiratory Demand: Medium work involving constant standing, walking, material handling, and operation in a hot, humid environment.
- General Physical Activities: Standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders and stairs, balancing.
- Physical Demand Level: Medium labor with lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.
