Job Summary: Andersen is seeking a Value Stream Manager I/II at our Dubuque, Iowa location. This position is responsible for managing and driving continuous improvement for the value stream supply chain (procurement to delivery) to deliver overall business results for the assigned value stream. The manager may oversee multiple or complex, shifting value streams, breaking them down into smaller, simpler streams and delegating change tasks.
The role ensures that each value stream operates in accordance with Andersen’s values, employee covenant, and strategic direction while actively developing multiple leaders.
- Deliver agreed value‑stream results in safety, quality, customer service, cost, and associate satisfaction/development.
- Define and communicate performance targets for safety, quality, customer service, cost, and associate satisfaction/development; hold the team accountable to those targets.
- Develop and implement plans to provide process improvement in the key areas above, aligning initiatives with Lean Manufacturing principles and the manufacturing strategic plan.
- Establish an environment conducive to high morale, associate satisfaction, and performance.
- Deliver performance against budget, using a participative budgeting approach.
- Ensure alignment of activities and resources within the value stream, and ensure cross‑organization collaboration and associate involvement where appropriate.
- Acquire the appropriate people, technology, equipment, and financial resources necessary to meet customer expectations and implement business improvement plans.
- Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback and encouragement to associates and managers to promote growth and development of the value‑stream team.
- Support new process and product development and implementation.
- Participate in negotiations with suppliers regarding issues that impact the value stream: prices, quality, customer service, etc.
- Continued personal growth and development; role model continuous learning.
- Be highly visible to associates and create a safe environment for participation—promote going to Gemba to solve problems and adopt hands‑on, high‑involvement approaches.
- Establish visual management techniques to manage the value stream.
- Mentor developing Value Stream Managers and Supervisors.
- 4‑year degree from an accredited college or university and/or a combination of education and experience.
- 5–10 years of supervisory or leadership experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of world‑class Lean, Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing practices.
