Job Description YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting General production supervisor opportunity at our processing facility. The general supervisor is responsible for the daily operations on a shift for a pork processing facility harvesting over 21,000 animals per day. This position provides management to direct reports who manage up to 200+ hourly employees. Oversight of either a harvest, primal cut, or conversion production floor ensuring adherence to product quality and food safety standards while achieving production goals.
Responsible for employee and workplace safety, improving performance, productivity, efficiencies, and profitability of departmental and organizational operations utilizing effective methods and strategies to improve processes.

- Provides leadership and effective direction for all operational activities related to production, product quality, food safety, and workplace safety, whether carried out by the team, contractors, or service companies.
- Ensures operations on the production floor adhere to company, local, state, and federal regulations, consistently meeting established standards.
- Monitor yields and efficiencies while working within the department’s annual budget with minimal guidance from the floor superintendent.
- Provides training and coaching to direct reports as well as production employees within the department to increase job knowledge and safety in all production departments.
- Understands the collective bargaining agreement and works cohesively with human resources to counsel and take corrective action as necessary.
- Works with senior department management to identify opportunities for decreasing the variation in processes and products while suggesting improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, with the ultimate goal to increase customer satisfaction.
- Follows the organization’s environmental health & safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks to the well-being of oneself and employees.
- Identifies patterns of unsafe behavior within the team and takes appropriate action to resolve these, escalating serious issues as appropriate.

- Minimum of three (3) years experience in a leadership position, including team development and management required.
- Animal protein manufacturing experience and comprehensive understanding of yields, plant efficiencies, and operations procedures.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, USDA, and HACCP regulations.
- Ability to build robust and effective working relationships with a diverse population ranging from hourly production workers to senior management.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, a plus.
- Flexibility in work schedule with long hours and some weekends required.
The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management—After-hours, weekends, and overnight travel as requested.
