Location: New Orleans

Our client, a growing food manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all aspects of manufacturing operations at one of its production facilities. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, food safety, employee engagement, and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership for plant operations, including production, maintenance, quality, warehouse, shipping, and receiving.
  • Drive safety, quality, productivity, and cost improvement initiatives across the facility.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor plant leadership while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure customer expectations, production schedules, and inventory goals are achieved.
  • Develop and manage plant budgets while identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and reduce cost.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance.
  • Support capital projects, equipment improvements, and long‑term operational planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of Plant Manager or senior manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Food manufacturing experience is required.
  • Experience in frozen food manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes, maintenance, and operational excellence.
  • Experience with ammonia refrigeration systems is strongly preferred.
  • Proven success implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience leading USDA and/or FDA regulated manufacturing facilities.
  • Working knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, and food safety systems.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, with an Engineering degree considered a plus.
