Location: New Orleans

Harahan, LA:
Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Powder Coater to join a busy metal fabrication team. This position is responsible for preparing metal components, applying high-quality powder coatings, inspecting finished products, and maintaining coating equipment while working closely with fabrication and welding personnel to ensure efficient production.

Essential Duties:
  • Prepare metal parts by cleaning, grinding, sanding, and masking surfaces prior to coating.
  • Hang and position parts on racks for efficient powder coating application.
  • Apply powder coating using electrostatic spray equipment while maintaining consistent coverage and finish quality.
  • Operate curing ovens and monitor cure times and temperatures to ensure proper coating performance.
  • Inspect finished products for coating thickness, adhesion, coverage, and overall appearance.
  • Perform touch-ups or rework on coated parts as needed to meet quality standards.
  • Clean and maintain spray booths, powder coating guns, and related equipment.
  • Coordinate with fabrication, welding, and production teams to maintain workflow and meet production deadlines.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements/

Skills:
  • 1-3 years of powder coating or industrial painting experience preferred.
  • Experience operating electrostatic powder coating systems.
  • Ability to identify coating defects and produce high-quality finishes.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions and production schedules.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions using hands and arms.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and industrial equipment.
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.
