EXCEL is seeking a Chemical Liquid Loader to join our team. The Loader is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of rail cars and tanker trucks with a variety of products and chemicals. Responsibilities:
  • Ensures that truck / rail car is positioned and secured properly at the loading rack and checks for last product contained.
  • Visually inspects the truck / rail car before transfer to ensure that it is mechanically sound and has no defective equipment.
  • Operate loading equipment to transfer caustic materials from storage tanks to rail cars, ensuring precise measurements and quantities according to loading instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all loading activities, including loading times, quantities loaded, rail car numbers, and any relevant documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Wears all protective clothing and equipment, including respirator and fresh air equipment that may be required to transfer the product in a manner that ensures maximum personal safety.
  • Able to accurately understand the weight before and after product transfer and ensures that outages do not exceed Department of Transportation (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). for the vessel being loaded.
  • Perform routine maintenance on loading equipment to ensure its proper functioning and report any malfunctions or deficiencies to the supervisor.
  • Coordinate with other team members, supervisors, and rail car operators to ensure smooth and efficient loading operations.
  • Be prepared to respond promptly and appropriately to any spills or leaks that may occur during loading, following company procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Stay updated on handling procedures, safety regulations, and industry best practices through regular training and professional development opportunities.
  • Follow environmental regulations and guidelines to prevent contamination and protect the environment during loading operations.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a Valid TWIC Card.
  • Previous experience in handling and loading caustic substances or hazardous materials is required.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols related to the handling of corrosive chemicals.
  • Ability to read and interpret loading instructions, safety data sheets (SDS), and other relevant documentation.
  • Physical ability to operate loading equipment and handle heavy equipment, as well as lift and move heavy containers.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and proper loading procedures.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to coordinate loading operations effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in industrial environments.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50–100 pounds.
  • Ability to work in awkward positions, including kneeling, crouching, stooping, bending, and crawling for extended periods.
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods during a work shift.
  • Ability to work overhead and perform repetitive motions involving arms, shoulders, and hands.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, hearing protection, fall-protection harnesses, and steel-toed boots.
  • Must be able to pass any required background check and drug screenings.
