Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Night Fabrication Shop Foreman to oversee night-shift fabrication operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This position provides direct supervision of welders, fitters, helpers, and other fabrication personnel while coordinating labor, materials, equipment, production schedules, and quality requirements. The Night Fabrication Shop Foreman is responsible for executing the established production plan, maintaining effective communication between shifts, and ensuring projects are completed according to customer specifications, applicable codes, approved drawings, budgets, and delivery schedules.

Duties
  • Supervise and direct all assigned night-shift fabrication personnel.
  • Execute daily production priorities established by management.
  • Assign work based on employee qualifications, certifications, and project requirements.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings covering safety, quality, production goals, and work assignments.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust manpower or workflow as necessary.
  • Coordinate shift handoffs and maintain accurate production reports.
  • Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Verify dimensions, materials, layouts, and fabrication details before production begins.
  • Assist employees with fabrication, layout, fitting, and welding questions.
  • Ensure compliance with approved drawings, welding procedures, customer specifications, and applicable codes.
  • Coordinate inspections and ensure quality requirements are met before advancing work.
  • Identify and report quality concerns while minimizing rework.
  • Enforce all company safety policies and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct job safety analyses, toolbox talks, and pre-task planning.
  • Monitor the safe operation of fabrication equipment, cranes, forklifts, welding machines, and other shop equipment.
  • Track labor hours, production progress, and schedule performance.
  • Coordinate material staging and report shortages or equipment issues.
  • Train, mentor, and develop fabrication personnel while promoting accountability and teamwork.
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe fabrication shop throughout the shift.
  • Communicate production, safety, quality, and personnel issues to management.
Requirements/Skills
  • Minimum of five (5) years of structural steel, industrial, marine, piping, pressure vessel, or heavy fabrication experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of fabrication supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of welding, fitting, layout, structural fabrication, and shop production methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Working knowledge of AWS, ASME, OSHA, and other applicable industry standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage manpower, and meet production schedules.
  • Proficiency using computers, email, timekeeping systems, and production tracking software.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, overtime, and extended shifts as required.
  • Welding certifications, OSHA, NCCER, AWS, Lean Manufacturing, or related industry training preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, reach, and work in an active industrial environment.
  • Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds with assistance when necessary.
  • Work around welding operations, cutting, grinding, elevated noise, heat, fumes, and moving equipment.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Ability to work extended hours, night shifts, weekends, and overtime as production demands require.
