Prepress/Engraver Operator
pc/nametag is looking for a Prepress/Engraver Operator to run CNC engraving machines producing high-detail engravings on aluminum parts. In this role, you will prepare 3D files, set up and operate equipment, and manage specialized engraving tooling. You’ll work on precision components where appearance and dimensional accuracy matter, requiring careful machine control and attention to detail.

- 60% of your day will be preparing and adjusting 3D files for aluminum engraving
- 10% of your day will be monitor engraving quality, depth, and surface finish
- 30% will be coordinating work orders and dies with appropriate machines
- Load engraving programs and operate two CNC machines
- Set up aluminum sheets, fixtures, and engraving tools
- Perform basic inspections using calipers, depth gauges, or visual standards
- Keep machines, tools, and work areas clean and organized
- Follow work instructions and safety procedures
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by standardizing workflow and implanting methodology to maximize CNC machine throughput
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator to review, edit, and prepare files for production
- Working knowledge of CAD software (Fusion 360, Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Strong computer skills, including managing digital files and navigating multiple systems in a production environment
- Experience in a manufacturing or production environment; CNC or engraving experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret simple drawings or engraving layouts
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes
- Willingness to learn CNC engraving processes and aluminum machining basics
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and consistency
- Ability to prioritize tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM) and overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs frequently
- Visual ability to perform close-up work, including color accuracy and focus adjustments
