ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Schedule all accepted orders in a manner that promotes efficient equipment utilization, minimizes inventories and meets customer delivery requirements
- Communicate schedules in a timely manner to all operating departments
- Generation and distribution of daily production and inventory reports
- Ensure proper sequencing of work roll campaigns with coordinators
- Verify sequences are lined up in order to cast on-time to meet rolling objectives
- Coordinate with operations personnel to ensure slabs are sequenced properly for slab casting, rolling and plate stacking requirements
- Assist order expeditor by providing slabs to meet change requests
- Review scheduled slabs to ensure most current orders are scheduled with consideration to order backlog and slab yields
- Review scheduled slabs to ensure planned stock is re-planned to live orders when possible
- Ensure unscheduled slabs are utilized to complete open orders, with approval for cross application
- Review unplanned orders within desired campaign date range and ensure all ordes are scheduled for production
- Assist in expediting key customer orders
- Assist in bundle reallocation based on shipping requests
- Confirm production schedules are prepared in a way that minimizes production of material that cannot immediately be applied to a customer order
- Review previous day’s slab, plate and coil production to ensure that dispositions are correct and that all possible inventories are applied to customer orders
- Perform reviews of all unapplied slab, plate and coil inventories, to ensure inventory is dispositioned correctly and all possible inventories are applied to customer orders
- Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of steel industry experience
- Familiarity of SSAB’s order processing and quality systems
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft suite
- Possess attention to detail, time-management and organizational skills
- Regular and reliable attendance
- Preferred:
- Manufacturing operations planning and inventory management experience
- Knowledge of SSAB’s products, production processes, scheduling practices and systems
- Required:
- High school diploma or GED/HSE equivalent
- Preferred:
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's degree in relevant field
This position operates in an office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and scanners. This role is mostly sedentary, however, some handling of materials is required. This would frequently require the ability to walk, bend, kneel, or stand, use of hands to finger, hold and handle, reach with hands and arms and to push / pull, lift or carry items up to 10 lbs.
Theemployee will occasionally be required to:
- This position would periodically require work in the mill environment with some exposure to heat/cold, walking/stairs, noise and wearing safety equipment/clothing for protection from hazards
- Balance, stoop, kneel and crouch
- Handle, grip, hold and grasp with both hands together or separately
- Talking person to person, on the phone, and/or in group settings
- Hearing in person, on the phone, and/or in group settings
- Vision at near, mid, and far range
- Position is full time, hourly, and is eligible for overtime
- Position works 12-hour rotating swing shift – to include nights and days
- Office presence required
