Pro Chem is hiring a responsible, safety-minded and self-motivated Wastewater Treatment System Operator to provide day-to-day oversight of an industiral wastewater pretreatment system at our customer's facility outside Morgan City, Louisiana.
This position is responsible for montioring pretreatment system performance, performing routine water chemistry testing, managing chemical and consumable inventory, maintianing treatment equipment, documenting system performance, and providing day-to-day technical support to our customer.
This is an opportunity for someone with experience in industrial, mechanical, maintenance, chemical handling, water treatment, or plan operations. Provide dailiy oversight and support of hte customer's industrial water preatreatment system and chemical treatment program.
Key responsibilities include:
- Monitor and oversee daily operation of the industrial water pretreatment system to suppor treliable system performance and required water quality
- Perform routine water chemistry testing, sampling, bench testing, equipment checks, and system inspections, and accurately document results
- Monitor treatment performance and make routine operational or chemical feed adjustements within established procedures and control ranges
- Maintain chemical, testing reagent, filter, and consumable inventories, including receiving materials and coordinating replenishment needs
- PErform reoutine equipment upkeep and preventive maintenance on pumps, chemical feed equipment, filters, instrumentation, and other pretreatment equipment
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment, chemistry, and operational issues and coordinate correctie actions with Pro Chem and customer personnel
- Maintain accurate operating records and commnicate system performance, chemicstry trends, inventory needs, maintenance requirements, and potential concerns
- Maintain clean, safe, and organizzed treatment and chemical storage areas while following all applicable safety, PPE, chemical handling, and iste procedures
- Provide professional, daily customer support and work with Pro Chem's technical and account management teams to maintain and improve overall system performance
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the customer faiclity located outside of Morgan City, Louisiana
- Ability to follow written and verbal work isntructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Dependable and capable of working independently while maintaining effective communiation with Pro Chem and customer personnel
- Strong attention to detail , particularly when performing chemistry tesitng and recording operating data
- Mechanical aptitude
- Industrial plant, utility, maintainance, or equipment operations experience preferred
- Industrial water treatment or pretreatment experience preferred but not requred
- Experience with water chemistry testing, sampling, or laboratory/field testing equipment preferred
- Experience handling industrial treatment chemicals, including corrosive chmeials, preferred
- Experience with pumps, chemical fed systems, valves, filtration equipment, piping, tanks, controls/instrumentation preferred
- Basica computer skills for data entry, reporting, email, and documenation
- Ability to read an dinterpret equipment operations manuals, operating procedures, and technical information
- Forklift experience or willingness to become forklift certified
- Wilingness to learn industrial water chemistry, pretreatment proceses, chemical feed systems, and associated equipment
