We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Fiberglass Technician to join our dynamic team.
** Job Summary:
**
As a Fiberglass Technician, you will play a vital role in fabricating, repairing, and maintaining fiberglass components essential to our water transportation equipment. Your technical expertise will ensure that all projects meet safety standards, quality specifications, and operational requirements, contributing to our mission of excellence in the industry.
** Key Responsibilities:
**
- - Laminate layers of fiberglass on molds to create various products.
- - Utilize pneumatic spray guns to apply chopped fiberglass, resins, and catalysts onto prepared molds or dies.
- - Select and cut fiberglass mats, cloth, and wood-bracing materials as per project specifications.
- - Mix catalysts with resins and apply multiple layers to mold surfaces, achieving the desired thickness and jelling the plastics.
- - Inspect completed products for conformance to specifications and identify any defects.
- - Repair or modify damaged fiberglass parts, ensuring accuracy in thicknesses, densities, and contours for a close fit post-repair.
- - Comply with all safety regulations and best practices, including OSHA regulations.
- - Assist in the training and onboarding of new hires.
- - Perform other related duties as assigned.
- - High school diploma or equivalent required.
- - Proficiency in reading a tape measure and blueprints.
- - Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- - Ability to follow instructions and deliver consistent work.
- - Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
- - Ability to tolerate prolonged periods of standing, bending, and stretching.
- - Ability to distinguish among colors.
- - Ability to endure exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the job site.
- - Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.
