Utility Operator

The Utility Operator is responsible for ensuring a clean and safe working environment is maintained across the plant site. Employees are not limited to the following key roles and responsibilities and may be asked to perform additional duties, as required.

Follow and adhere to all site Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and company operational standards at all times to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.

Use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) correctly and ensure it is maintained and in good condition. Identify and immediately report safety hazards, near-miss events, environmental concerns, and unsafe conditions to supervision.

Utilize mobile equipment including but not limited to skid steers, forklifts, aerial lifts, and front-end loaders.

Attend and actively participate in both pre-shift and weekly safety meetings.

Ensure that all training and certifications are kept up to date in accordance with internal and regulatory requirements.

Complete mobile equipment pre-checklist and turn into supervisor.

Perform area rounds and ensure all assigned checklists are completed throughout the shift and turned into supervisor.

Monitor and maintain radio communications with control room and crew members. Clearly communicate any operational issues throughout shift.

Monitor for abnormal operating conditions such as leaks, unusual odors, spills, or equipment malfunctions and take appropriate action notifying shift supervisor.

Perform and participate in effective handover process at the beginning and ending of each shift.

Assist with and perform required feedstock and pellet cleanouts on equipment in assigned area to minimize process disruptions and non-productive time.
