Woodyard Operator

As a Woodyard Operator I at Drax in the Energy & Utilities sector, you'll support sustainable power generation by safely receiving, handling, and storing biomass materials within our Warehouse & Manufacturing operations. You'll operate mobile and fixed equipment, monitor conveyors and material quality, and perform basic inspections and housekeeping. Working in a safety-focused, inclusive culture, you'll help ensure a reliable fuel supply that supports Drax's mission to deliver a zero carbon, lower cost energy future.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodyard equipment to receive, move, and store biomass materials safely and efficiently
• Monitor conveyors, loaders, and screening systems to ensure steady fuel supply for energy production
• Perform basic equipment inspections, cleaning, and routine preventive maintenance
• Follow strict safety, environmental, and quality procedures aligned with sustainable energy operations
• Record material volumes, report equipment issues, and coordinate with warehouse and manufacturing teams
• Support continuous improvement, housekeeping, and waste reduction initiatives in the woodyard area

• Forklift operation
