About the Role:

Sanitation Site Manager

As a Sanitation Site Manager, you are responsible for the overall leadership and execution of sanitation operations at one of our customers' food manufacturing facilities. You will lead a team of sanitation professionals while ensuring every piece of equipment and every production area is clean, sanitized, inspected, and production-ready each day.

This role requires a highly visible leader who can successfully manage People, Processes, Systems, and Relationships while delivering safe, compliant, and efficient sanitation operations.

Working closely with your Area Manager and customer leadership, you will create an environment built on accountability, continuous improvement, food safety, and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do 1. Lead People
  • Build and develop a high-performing sanitation team committed to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard sanitation team members.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and job-specific training.
  • Provide training, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing employee development.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and regular coaching sessions.
  • Manage employee relations, attendance, scheduling, labor utilization, and overtime.
  • Foster an engaged, accountable, and respectful team culture.
  • Develop future supervisors and site leaders through succession planning.
2. Manage Processes & Procedures
  • Ensure sanitation activities are executed consistently and in compliance with Ecowize standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute the Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Ensure compliance with all established processes & procedures including: 10 Steps of Sanitation/SSOPs, GMPs, Safe Work Practices, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HAZCOM), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Maintain chemical handling and dilution procedures.
  • Lead incident reporting, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
3. Manage Business Systems
  • Leverage Ecowize technology platforms and operating systems to effectively manage daily operations and compliance.
  • Utilize eQMS 2.0 to manage quality documentation and corrective actions.
  • Maintain employee records and workforce management through Rippling.
  • Assign and monitor employee training using the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Utilize Google Workspace for communication, scheduling, reporting, and document management.
  • Complete accurate documentation including:
    Daily sanitation reports, Payroll/Labor reporting, Training records, Chemical inventory/ titration records, CAPA.
  • Monitor labor hours, productivity, and operating costs while meeting budget expectations.
4. Build & Maintain Relationships
  • Serve as Ecowize's primary onsite representative by developing trusted partnerships with key customer points of contact including food safety/quality, maintenance and operations teams, regulatory officials (USDA), 3rd party auditors (SQF, BRCGS), and internal support teams (Finance, HR, IT, OPEX).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for daily sanitation operations.
  • Conduct routine customer meetings.
  • Communicate sanitation performance and operational updates.
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Coordinate special projects, shutdowns, and additional sanitation work.
  • Support regulatory inspections and third-party audits.
  • Build long-term customer partnerships through consistent operational excellence.
What You Bring

Experience & Key

Competencies:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience within food manufacturing, sanitation or food production operations.
  • Experience leading sanitation teams in USDA and/or FDA regulated facilities.
