Recovery Technician

As a Recovery Technician at GFL Environmental, you'll support recycling and waste management operations by safely sorting, recovering, and processing materials for reuse or disposal. You will operate basic material handling equipment, follow strict safety and environmental procedures, and help maintain a clean, organized facility. Working closely with a team, you'll inspect incoming loads, separate recyclables, and ensure quality standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Safely sort and recover recyclable materials from incoming waste streams
• Operate basic material handling and recycling equipment
• Follow all safety, PPE, and environmental procedures and regulations
• Inspect loads for contamination and ensure quality standards are met
• Segregate, label, and stage recovered materials for processing or shipment
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist with basic equipment checks
• Record material volumes or weights using logs or handheld devices
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals
• Report safety hazards, equipment issues, and non-compliant materials promptly
