Job Summary

The Major Gifts and Revenue Generation Officer (MGRGO) for Athletics is a key frontline fundraising professional within the Development team in University Advancement at LSU New Orleans. The MGRGO is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of prospective and current donors and sponsors capable of making major gifts and commitments in support of the university's strategic priorities and athletics program, in close partnership with the Athletics Department.

Because much of athletics fundraising takes the form of corporate sponsor ships and partnerships, the role includes negotiating and administering sponsorship agreements. Athletics gifts and sponsor ships are raised through and managed by the LSU New Orleans Foundation. Working collaboratively with Advancement colleagues, academic leadership, faculty, and senior administrators, and the Athletic Director, the MGRGO plays a critical role in advancing a culture of philanthropy and securing private support that enhances LSU New Orleans's mission as a public urban research university.

The MGRGO partners closely with the Foundation and reports fundraising activity and progress to the LSU New Orleans Foundation Board.

  • Develop and execute individualized major gift strategies and solicitation plans that align donor interests with university priorities.

  • Develop and administer corporate sponsorship and partnership agreements for athletics: solicit and negotiate sponsor ships; manage the agreement scope, deliverables, benefits, and terms; coordinate contract drafting, routing, execution, and renewal with the Corporate Paralegal & Executive Liaison and counsel; and track and steward fulfillment of sponsor benefits and recognition.
  • Prepare written proposals, gift and sponsorship agreements, stewardship reports, and correspondence tailored to donor and sponsor interests.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of donor and sponsor interactions, moves-management activity, agreements, and proposals in the University's CRM (Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT), partnering with the Prospect Intelligence & Strategy Manager on prospect qualification, portfolio optimization, and pipeline reporting.
  • Partner with the Advancement Data & Stewardship Manager and the Advancement Operations & Events Manager to ensure timely, meaningful stewardship and effective…
