Overview

A Nurse Practitioner is needed for the Louisiana Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders (LCBCD). This position supports the mission of the LCBCD by expanding services with a focused initiative dedicated to care of patients with blood disorders. The clinic will serve as a resource for primary and specialty providers throughout Louisiana who refer patients with complex bleeding and clotting disorders.

A Nurse Practitioner with experience in pediatric and family health care is a vital component to establishing a comprehensive care clinic.

About LCBCD

The LCBCD utilizes a comprehensive care model in the treatment of patients with a variety of hematologic conditions, with an emphasis on bleeding and clotting disorders. We provide care for patients across the lifespan. We are a federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center, and the only program of its kind for adults in Louisiana. We have clinic locations in New Orleans, Metairie, Lafayette, and Alexandria.

The nurse practitioner will collaborate with the LCBCD team to provide exemplary care for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced nursing care in collaboration with physicians and other clinicians for patients with bleeding and clotting disorders.
  • Participate in the development and execution of a comprehensive care clinic for pediatric and family health needs.
  • Coordinate referrals, patient education, and follow-up across multiple locations.
  • Collaborate with the LCBCD team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.
Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing and NP certification.
  • Current NP licensure in Louisiana.
  • Experience in pediatric and/or family health care; hematology or bleeding/clotting disorder experience preferred.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and care coordination skills.
