Practical Nurse-Licensed

ELMHS is seeking a motivated, detail‑oriented individual to join the team in the Nursing Department as an LPN
!

Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi‑state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

• Transcribes doctor's orders accurately and timely manner
• Prepares, administers, and documents medications and treatments as ordered.
• Documents patient's response to medication regime, PRN and stat dose administration. Provides patient teaching according to medications prescribed.
• Checks and justifies all medications from Pharmacy, and maintains clean, orderly, and well‑stocked medication room.
• Monitors patient status in milieu and assesses patient behaviors. Reports dangerous or inappropriate patient behaviors to RN supervisor.
• Provides written and verbal reports of ward/unit occurrences to RN and provides information for shift hand‑off.
• Assists the Medical Doctor as needed and assures follow‑up on orders are completed.
• Directs psychiatric aide staff and/or Correction Guard‑Therapeutic in performance of their duties and serves as resource for same.
• Participates in unit activities and provides educational information for patients.
• Attends monthly staff meetings, in‑service trainings, mandatory education trainings and other educational programs.
• Maintains a current and unencumbered motor vehicle License

Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional

Career Progression: This position may be filled as an LPN 1, LPN 2, or LPN 3 based on experience

Division: Within the Nursing and/or the Department at ELMHS, Located in Jackson, LA

Work Schedule: Approximately 11 AM to 7 PM

Compensation:

• This position has an SER of
  • $19.48 an hour or $1558.40 bi‑weekly for LPN 1
  • $20.48 an hour or $1667.20 bi‑weekly for LPN 2
  • $22.30 an hour or $1784.00 bi‑weekly for LPN 3
• This position is eligible for the following premium pays (Per Hour Physically Worked):
  • Facility Longevity – Starting at $2.00
  • Recruitment/Retention - $10.00
• This position qualifies for shift differentials, with rates varying based on shift time, day of the week, and holidays.
